05 Apr 2017

Over the next 12 months we will undertake a comprehensive update of the EUSR Utility Safety Health & Environment Awareness (SHEA) Schemes (Core, Gas, Power, Water, Telecommunications and Cross Country Pipeline).

We are committed to ensuring that the portfolio of schemes:

- Reflects the desires and expectations of those working within our sector
- Is up to date with the latest legislative changes and
- Aligns with current best practice thinking in the field of learning and development.

The development team, comprising learning and development, health and safety and technical content experts, will utilise the 'Systematic Approach to Training'.

The 'Systematic Approach to Training ' is a robust and credible methodology for designing and delivering a comprehensive and professional suite of training materials and tools to support your SHEA training delivery. Used most recently for the update of the Safety, Health and Environmental Awareness (Waste and Resource Management) scheme, the process ensures the incorporation of a breadth of learner focused tools to assure the transference of knowledge into the workplace.

Steering Group

To ensure the content reflects sector needs, we will be consulting widely through a number of groups (further details attached):

- An employer Steering Group will govern the scope of the update.
- Six Industry Working Groups, comprising key and valued stakeholders, will get hands on with contributing to the new and improved content.

As an existing EUSR trainer, and user of the EUSR schemes, I would like to invite to you to be involved in the Steering Group or Industry Working Groups for the update. The groups are scheduled to meet up to six times between May and December 2017, and will take an active role in the scheme updates.

Sam Lea, Learning Scheme Consultant will be your main day to day contact for the project and for our Steering and Working Groups.

If you would like to express an interest in this opportunity, or supporting the update in any other way, please email schemeupdates@euskills.co.uk by Tuesday 18 April, indicating which group you would like to be involved in.
