Plant for Utilities Scheme Re-Launch

02 Aug 2012

The new and improved PLUS scheme formally launches this month.

The new scheme provides more choice, more flexibility and more categories of plant than ever before.

In February 2008, in response to employer demand for a utilities specific plant scheme, EUSR launched the first edition of the Plant for Utilities Scheme (PLUS), with one category covering the training and assessment of 360° mini-excavators under 5 tonnes.

Now we have gone further. Supported by the EUSR Recognition of Learning Programme (RLP), this new version is set to re-define plant training within the utility and waste management industry.

Why is it needed?
The majority of plant training currently available in the UK is construction focussed, and in many ways not representative of the activities of a transient utility workforce, or hazardous waste management environment.

Developed with employers, the new edition of PLUS provides the only quality assured, utility focussed and employer driven plant training within the gas, power, water and waste management industries.
