Delivery change to Scottish Water DOMS

28 Mar 2014

Scottish Water is changing the way it delivers SW DOMS training.

Following a review of the process for DOMS training, the decision was made and agreed by the DOMS Steering Group to rationalise DOMS training to help improve compliance.

The result of this standardisation is that from 1st April, DOMS training must cover all 12 modules and will be required to be completed by all Scottish Water staff, both internally and externally who require the National Water Hygiene (NWH) and DOMS cards to work, or supervise on the water network.

Furthermore, the additional DOMS Module 13 (Sampling Practitioner) must be delivered as a full day course and is specifically for the training of staff that take samples or are directly responsible for those taking water samples.

As a result of this change, EUSR will accept submissions as follows:

  • DOMS training delivered before 1st April will still be accepted even if all 12 modules have not been completed.
  • DOMS training delivered after 1st April where all 12 modules have not been completed will be returned.

More information is detailed in the update document available here. If you have any questions regarding this change, please contact Scottish Water on 0131 445 6330 (ext 56330) or email peopleconnect@scottishwater.co.uk
