Following consultation with the Gas Network Skills Forum and the Water Industry Skills Steering Group, from 30th June 2014, EUSR will register which pathway has been achieved for the Level 2 Diploma in Network Construction Operations (Gas/Water). This will be displayed as NCO (Gas/Water) Role (Pathway), e.g. NCO (Gas) Service Layer (Self-Lay).

The Repair & Maintenance pathway for Gas will be registered as Distribution and NMO (Gas) Escape, Locate & Repair. To see a breakdown of the units required for each pathway, please click on the appropriate link:

As a result of this change, registration of Escape, Locate & Repair (ELR) will only be available to those having achieved either the required units and the Distribution or Repair & Maintenance pathway of NCO (Gas).

The process for re-registration remains unchanged, however, employers will now additionally need to specify whether the individual is Self-Lay or Distribution. Re-registration of ELR will only be possible if held previously and being re-registered for Distribution.

Pathways can be changed using the re-registration form and will require additional evidence to support the change, which will be subject to review by the relevant Industry Expert.

For more information regarding the above changes, please visit the NCO (Gas) scheme page here or the NCO (Water) scheme page here.
